The time at the homestay by Imy and his family was great. We’ve been there for 12 days and since the first day we felt very comfortable! The room was cozy and clean, the area around the homestay was really peaceful and reaching the Dal lake needs only two minutes walk. :) Also Imy and his family are very openminded, they helped us to arrange some different tours and showed us nice places in Srinagar.😊 Everyday we enjoyed the fresh Indian meals that were prepared by the cook Nazeer and we loved it a lot. The whole experience was really nice and we would like to visit Imy and his family again! :)

This was the best place to stay in whole Kashmir! The entire family is super friendly and funny. It was always nice to have a chat with them, they are all heartwarming people! Imy and his father could always give us good information about sightseeing and helped us to organize everything we needed help with. We did not have a car so they even picked us up from the airport, the communication was always really easy and good. They also have a really good cook who is named Nazeer. He made the best food ever, it was always fresh and tasty! The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom has a geezer and was also really clean. The bed was comfy and had many blankets and pillows. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly all the time! There are a lot of different things to do around Dal Lake and Nageen Lake, if you need help to organize your trips Imy can also help by booking trekking trips! It was so calm and relaxing at the homestay I would definitely recommend it to anybody and would love to come again! <3 :)

They attacked my friends from uk. The staff is very unprofessional and rude. They asked money from my friends to let them go otherwise not letting them go. They attacked them with bricks and abused them.

I would highly advise against anyone staying here. At first it was fine, albeit not in the best location but the Wi-Fi was good and the food was nice. Our first day there when we said we wanted to do our own thing they where no longer interested in helping us as we did not want to pay for a tour. However, when leaving we found an alternative way to get to the airport via friends rather than paying the homestay for someone to take us there. One of the members of staff working at the homestay started shouting at my friends, us and being aggressive and not letting us close the car door. He said it was ‘illegal’ what we where doing and that he was going to ‘call the tourism police’ and we needed to go to the police station with him. We couldn’t be bothered with this as we had a plane to catch, which we told him, and he shouted SHUT UP in our faces and continued shouting at our friends. He asked for money from us and then said he would let us go. We did not pay it. With the car door finally closed, we drove off only for the same member of staff ran after the car and threw a brick at the back window of the car. Felt really unsafe.

If I could give this place 0 stars after what me and my friend encountered at this home stay this morning I would. Similar to the 1* reviews the homestay owners attitude towards us instantly soured after we did not want to pay for their overpriced tour of Srinagar and do our own thing. We made friends a couple of days earlier who offered to take us to the airport for free instead of paying the homestay to arrange a rickshaw. As we got in the car the homestay host started verbally abusing us demanding money to let the car go. I tried to explain to the driver this was not a taxi but a free lift off a friend to which he started shouting in my face “SHUT UP SHUT UP”. This began to escalate more and once other people had dragged the host away he picked up a BRICK and threw it at the back of the car where myself and my friend were sitting which could of shattered the back window and causing serious harm to ourselves. Luckily it just missed. I really urge people not to stay here for your own safety. I have never felt so unsafe and we are lucky to get out without being injured.
